I went yesterday with my mom to see a Doctor about a medical weight loss program. It was quite interesting to sit and listen about this program. I guess over 20,000 doctors subscribe this program to their patients and millions of patients have used it successfully.
Why do I need this program you ask? Because I am the largest I have ever been in my life. At 25 years old I am tipping the scale at 273 lbs! I am dealing with infertility, pre diabetes, back problems, foot problems, and all around self esteem issues.
I am going to cover my health issues now so that everyone will be able to see the changes being made over time.
Back- I had back surgery on 3 bulging disks on my spine in 2008, they still flare up and cause problems today. I also have degenerative disk disease and arthritis in my spine.
Pre Diabetes - I have a condition known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which some of my doctors are saying that it is the cause of my infertility. PCOS is due to an insulin resistance in the body. Your insulin receptors do not work so your body stores the sugars that come into the body. Unfortunately your body also changes hormonallly, more testosterone is released in the body causing hair growth and cysts in the ovaries preventing fertility.
Foot Problems - I have plantar fascitis on both of my feet, two heels spurs on each foot, and I both of my achilles tendons are (according to my doctor) so tight that they could snap at any given time.
Those are just a few of the crappy things I am dealing with. I am so sick and tired of feeling sick that I made my mind up this time to make a change. This diet is extremely simple. No measuring, No weighing, No calorie counting...it is a grab and go kinda diet and it is all FDA and medically approved. I have 120lbs to lose and the doctor said it is definately possible to achieve this weight loss in a year......
So I have ordered the food, it should arrive monday. I will take pictures throughout this whole experience and hopefully a year from now you will be hearing from "less" of me.
